UNDER 15 KNIGHTS CUP 2012
A team of Under 15 players participated in the DDCA Knights Cup played last Sunday at the Endeavour Hills Cricket Club. After winning all games the boys were just beaten by the Hallam Under 15/1 team in the grand final. Congratulations to the following players: Lakindu De Silva, Liam Whelan, Peter Lawrance, Lachlan Lawrance, Bradley Bigaignon, Al Christy, Nick Cigetic, Jack Jessiman, Caedryn Curtain, Jarrod van der Staay and also a big thank you to Springvale South player Jack Mc Kinney who filled in for one of our players who was ill on the day. Thanks also to Barry Whelan who managed the boys throughout the day and well done to Al Christy and Jarrod van der staay who were co-captains and lead their team extremely well in all games. Well done again to all players….

MASTERS WIN GRAND FINAL
Congratulations to the Berwick Cricket Club Masters team on winning their Grand Final last Sunday against Buckley Ridges. Berwick batted first and were 9/199 at the end of their innings with A. Peters 39, M. Lloyd 37, C. Bell, 30 and J. Barlow 27. However Berwicks bowling attack was just too good and Buckley Ridges were all out for 114 - M. Fowkes 4/14 and K. Dowsett 2/21. Congratulations to all players…

BERWICK C.C. HONOURS GAVAN WILLS

On Saturday 28 January, 2012 the Berwick Cricket Club honoured Gavan Wills for his contribution to cricket at Berwick and to award him Life Membership for the 2010/2011 season. There were many guest speakers who spoke of Gavan’s playing career and told many amusing stories as well as many video recorded messages from those who were unable to attend the function. The night was attended not only by Berwick members but also other clubs within the DDCA and a special attendance by 5 members from the Payneham Cricket Club in South Australia where Gavan played for a few seasons. Well done Gavan on a lengthy career at Berwick and lets hope there are many more to come…

BERWICK WINS T20 FINAL
Congratulations to our T20 team on winning the DDCA T20 last Wednesday night before a great crowd at The Cave. Berwick batted first and were 7/196 at the end of their 20 overs. The best of the batsmen were Josh Holden (53), James Davies (41), Brad Francis (32) and Jarrod Goodes (25). Coomoora then batted however failed to make the required runs and were 4/152 at the end of play. A great win for the Bears… All teams are now focusing on finals as we head towards the end of the home and away series. GO BEARS…
